As for a van it all depends on what you are looking for, panel van campers come up quite regularly - most needing work to one degree or another. Couch built models are cheaper as a rule and although based on the same chassis the rear body can hold unseen horrors behand the panelling where rotten timber frames can lurk. At least with a van conversion you usually get what you see, but watch out for the dreaded filler.
If you do find one post some detailed pics and we will give you an honest appraisal:)

Summer's Coming

hello panky its being a while since i have been on , i have been looking all over the place and i think i mite have found one ,all i know is its a non runner needs full resto ,from what the guy said it s the louver windows in ? any advice would be appreciated .

Hi Mark long time no speaky:)
My advise is look beyond the louvered windows, if that's his best selling point then look right through them;) There doesn't seem to be much else going for it unless the full resto means a good wash and polish and the non running engine is because it's run out of petrol[}:)] Only joking but remember a 'full resto' can cost many thousands of pounds and even if you do it yourself it could take a long time and a serious wedge - but go and see it and decide for yourself. It could be a total basket case or it could be just what you are looking but at least you can see what's what and see one in the flesh. Go camera in hand and report back ASAP with lots of pics of everything:)

Hello , john ,i have bought that commer from rawdon , it needs a bit of work to say the least , i have been to see martin and purchased a manual to help me along haha !! .i was planning to keep the engine but it looks like its seized , which just adds to the list ,:),

The manual should be useful mixed with fibre glass resin to cover some of the bigger holes;)
