Very Rare Commer For Sale.

Hi all,

I went to Essex today to view the Gumtree Commer in an earlier thread. On the way there, literally 10 miles away from it i spotted another Commer for sale on a driveway. Naturally i stopped and got out the car to meet the owner;)

I couldn't believe it to be honest..
Anyway luckily i had my camera on me so took some piccies.

It's tax exempt, M.O.T'd, Has overdrive on a Diesel engine(Replaced some time ago, and not originally diesel) 56000 miles, pretty good order although you can see that it has no flutes, however it looks like a nice job has been made of it. Has a preoper paint job and not hand painted. Has fridge, cooker and all the obvious stuff..Good looking van but does need to cosmetics sorting in terms of bodywork(What van don't) I asked him what conversion it was and he seemed to think it was a Sheldon??? Maybe he meant Sherwood? Martin would need to clarify i guess;)

Anyway, the guy is aware of this place and i told him i would stick the pics up here and a bit of blurb...Very nice bloke! He wants £2000ono which i reckon is a bargain for somebody wanting this Hen's tooth:p;)...You can reach him on 01376 570857 and his name is Dai, as in Di[8D]

His had that commer for years always wonted to buy it .. I think someone on commervanfan went to buy it but he was asking £4700 for it a couple of months ago his drop the price my alot ..

I'm sure there was a Sheldon hi top used on a lot of different vans.
This one was even fitted with a chimney:)

Gatt, he told me that he overpriced it and that he had been advised so;) Chris do you mean inside the van? It's like a small bunk for storage. At the back of the van is a Belisha Beacon?

I meant the window at the front of the roof but also are they speakers for sirens front & rear of the roof?

Its an odd one alright, looks nicely painted, but i would like to know what,s in place of the flutes [}:)]

Don't know if it's the picture, but the passenger door seems to have lots of filler swelling out. Shame about the flutes, it could have been an interesting investment [V]

That's an ugly beast all right! I was thinking what Martin and 'racer were thinking - I bet it's ugly under that paint too [xx(]
 
mmm... looks pig ugly to me too Chamba... and has the look of an ambulance alright. And they always put me off with the thought of what/who went in them!?!!?[xx(]
