yes unfortuatly this is the only other way it can be done, we have stitched the two panels together and will grind the seam line back in, and then the seam will be filled up with a seam sealant that sets rock hard. it was either this way or a whole interior out job. and its only having part of the side cill repaired so not so bad really. if it was all the way along i would have removed the whole thing along with interior. but no need too this way.;):D
 
made a bit more progress today with the van, welded in the front wheel arch supplied by my mate( steve the commer butcher). it went really well to be honest it looks a bit vanfrankenstein but i kind of like it. see what you think. ive sent the mail as always to me good old mate.;)

We have to do Bluebells rear out riggers and floor in a very sililar reflection of what you have done......will be in touch soon to order those 2 out riggers and also the front passenger side one just behind the cab!

im off to bed now as its past my bed time. ive got to be up early to get to the market to sell a second hand welder i dont need .:D;)
