Van Woolf (VW?)

yes guys i can honestly say i think im in for the long haul. as you can see under neath all that lovely patina is a whole shed load of rust. even though when you look at the front floorpan picture it looks ok, but on the underside its a different story. i was amazed actually at how much rust there was.i dont think it will be on the road over the next couple of week anyway.:(

that pile of rust on the floor is like a thimble full compared to what actually came off.it was a pile ten times the size of that one, and that was without the good bits of metal that came off. the rear outriggers you could honestly just poke your fingers through ,like a peice of tissue. (no not whilst wiping your bottom before anyone suggests it.)the underside of the van looks as though it had stood in a river for ten years ,there is hardly any underseal in sight. just a blanket of rust.that £2000.00 iwas offered the other week for it seems more tempting now for some reason.[?];):D

oh and just incase anyone was wondering what the blue markings were on the side of the van they are measurements or datum points so i know exactly where to put stuff back. but i have to be honest and say that i cant take the credit for this idea it was my good friend wayne. i was just going made with the chopping as one does.:D;)

Nice work Woolfy! If there was ever a van to show off and advertise your repro panels and handy work, this has to be it! I'm sure it'll pay its dividends once complete. Are you going to sign write it with the company name???

Hard work done now you can see what you are working with, You will have a good solid van when you have finished

once again thanks again panky mate for the posting. but yes as you can see the pile of rust is for ever getting bigger by the day. i got underneath and had to remove the two main outtriggers which hold the springs in place due to severe corrosion. which then spread to the wheel arch. i had to remove the inner wooden paneling from inside the van to access it and to my suprise i found the biggest mouse nest ever inside, i think it must of been the mouse pee that has corroded the wheel arch away.haha. oh well i will just have to refit my nice new bigger wheel arches back in to save time. theres that much rott though it makes me wonder if its really gonna be worth while restoring ,or should i give up whilst the going is good and before ive begun.?;)[?]:D
