BTW The alloy head is off a 1725cc engine as I've got the bottom end as well. I've stripped it now though,

Splendid.
The engine will either be out of a Sunbeam Alpine, a Sunbeam Rapier or a Humber Sceptre. Cant think of any others that had the alloy head - maybe a Singer Vogue but not sure on that.

Yeah thanks Panky. I believe it's out of a Mk 2 Humber Sceptre. I'm pretty sure that's the car Colin said his engine came from, and it ties in with a bit research I've done as well.

I checked my PMs and Colin got the engine out of a Sunbeam Rapier so maybe the Rapier and the Sceptre shared the same engine option in the late 60s? Anyway thanks for all your help guys.

The Hunter shaped Vogue also has the alloy head. Has an alloy sump as well.

Yep all the same engine except for carbs and exhaust manifold - unless it's a Holbay of course
