Ultimate commer

For me I've already got it:) Harvey is a bit rough round the edges but goes like stink, handles and stops well and is comfortable and economical - and I did all the mods myself:D
But if I was looking elsewhere Commerjon's airbagged New Zealand import does it for me - just needs a nice V8 to finish it off:cool:

straight sides (coachbuilt too cumbersome for my taste), nice smooth, quiet engine- a real motorway-eater.
I'd love to fit a triumph 2500 but think the engine bay is too short.
Overdrive, light colour so as not to get hot in summer, loads of wood inside, nicely varnished.
Utterly waterproofed, bike rack on back, decent stereo. 6'5" bed lengthways, nice little cooker, awning rail on back.
Me and my wife in the front, on an adventure across Europe.

:)

any pics of harvey?

Im loving that commer. Is that nt what classics are, part of our soul. Im into the modern modified scene and it annoys me when the guys mod the car just to be better or win shows instead of doing what they want.

I loved modifying the engine, it's not pretty and the plumbing look a little erm - domestic - but it certainly does the job:)

Rapier lump with an 1 3/4" SU on a custom manifold (made by commeracer) with K&N, gas flowed twin down pipe exhaust manifold, straight through 1 3/4" exhaust, dumped the old water pump in favour of a Davies Craig electric one, electric fan, electronic ignition, overdrive and that's about it. All bolt on bits and nothing too dramatic, more power, more torque and more economical - what's not to like:D

Nw that does sound nice. If its anything like my rapier it will go well. Ive put this post up and im nt even sure of my ultimate commer. Think it has to be quick, v driveable and a few modern touches but still have that classic commer pb look
