Had a bit more time to fiddle. Now got the front aerial moving forward under it's own steam :p Also wired up some more lighs on the console, so as you turn the knob, different lights show :)

Had a man from Auntie Beeb here today. The One Show are doing a piece on TV Detector vans in January and are using mine for filming:p He's having difficulty researching material, even the BBC have refused to comment on a program for themselves[B)]

They dont want to let out the secrets, this was a working detector but some where dummies - so some say;)

Some were indeed dummies! I remember as a boy looking into the back of one when the door was opened and it was just a minibus with tinted windows and nowt in it, the post office knew exactly which address`s did`nt have licences so used to visit unlicensed properties to check if a TV was installed and guess what they went in? To be fair though they did advertise in the local press when they were in the area so you had a chance to get legal. Also TV ariel installers had to inform the post office when they installed a new TV ariel at a property so it could be checked if a licence had been issuedquote:

Did the filming for the One Show yesterday :) Trawled round the streets of Leeds, filming in a few different locations. Program is due to go out next Friday, presented by Marty Jopson.
He tested us by putting a TV in a driveway and getting us to find it...
WE DID [8D]
The Detector played up a bit, all the stopping and starting got it a bit warm and had to keep stopping to let it cool. Finally at 4.30 it got into the red and died[xx(] but by that time it was dark anyway. 20 mins cooling off and away it went again [^]
