TV Detector-More is less!

Did your van come with all the gubbins inside and the oversize radar roof bars?- along with the little man with the disapproving tone - he makes it sound like watching colombo is the main offence they are going to bust no. 5 for

vid probably useful for reference shots as can't be many pictures of these around.

They are pretty good odds![8D]

little mans' disappearance may not have been down to entirely natural causes. The driver took it to the garage complaining of the strange whining noise coming from the front.;)

Might have to retract that statment. If you freeze the shot of the front, it looks like it has the large sidelights, but looking at the rear, it has square ends to the arial pod, whereas mine has slightly rounded ones [V]

we may never know,im not trying to change the subject here but ive just been on yu tube myself and typed in commer van videos, then up popped chris,s van but underneath it was another film shot of a commer ice cream van in australia take a look yourselves and see its great,i just wish i new how to get the adverts onto here as theres loads of them on there ,all different types rangeing from road safety from the 70s to mixing cross ply tyre and radials and how you shouldnt do it.theres even films of old cars driveing up the main roads.;)

I found a new site which you might find interesting!
http://www.britishtelephones.com/vehicles/lightvans/023.htm
It might help when you need to put the interior back together again, assuming this earlier version is the same. I wonder whether the original builders listed still exist.
I notice that the operator hadn't yet grown a moustache or acquired horn rim specs. The driver looks a bit laid back![8D]

Excellent find. :) Vosper Thornycroft had a marine electronics dept. I contacted them earlier in the year, they sold the electronics div. to Rolls Royce marine, including the site. I e-mailed them last week to see if they still have the records, as yet no reply.[V]

It looks surprisingly roomy inside, I was expecting it to be packed out with all sorts of electronics and oscilloscopes.

its a shame that some of those photo shots werent of your dad when he use to work on them, how cool a find would that have been. still a great find though.;):p

hey martin guess what is being made this week as we speak, new roof gutter and roof sections, they will come in 1 metre lenghts and it will have about two to three inches of the curved roof atactched to it. also this week im hopefully going to get my new inner wheel arches, plus we are making the long awaited lower front valance repair panel.plus you will know what i mean when i say this but others might not ,as theres a good chance they wont have seen one unless they have chopped off their outer panels like we have. you know where the main upper body panel comes down and meets the lower fluted panel, well behind the join where they meet you have that u shaped strenghtaning bar which is about an inch or so wide, well mine are rotten so ive decided to re-make these aswell and add them to the reproduction chain,as others will probably need them aswell when they restore their vans.if you need any of these bits let me know and i will sort them out for you.:p;)

I could do with 2 gutter/roof sections, but I will need them very quick. I still have the peak and door stay bracket for you to copy :)

what i wanted you to do for me is down load something off of you tube onto here for me.if you go on it and type in old timers then scroll down the page you will come across an artical called bloom fields old timers, click on it and then you will see another artical saying 1966 clip of cars, lorry and doubledecker bus,its a lovely little film with a nice bit of nostalgic music to go with it,i think you will all like it,and keep your eyes open when the bus comes into view because is that a commer pb following it,you have to be quick to spot it though.cheers mate see what you can do.the reason i want to talk to you was incase i had to talk you through it.:p;):)
