TS3 in Commer anyone ?

Hi,

Though i should start a new thread. I have a TS3 215cu 135Hp engine.

Has anyone put a TS3 in a Commer Van ? I have the engine, but no drive line. Any info on driveline compatibility would be welcome. (i need everything, including the flywheel)

Van No 3 has no motor or box, but a pretty good body. Interesting combo, if i can find a drive line.

That would be very noisey [:0] Very nice though :p Noise levels were the only reason the TS3 + TS4 never hit the US market, as they exceeded the permitted noise levels [xx(]

in 1967, At the time of the TS4, Chrysler took over the roots group and had an existing agreement for diesel engine supply from cummins. So there was no point spending $$ on the TS4.

Well i ended up finding an old commer QX truck with a TS3 in it, so i will go play with that for a while. The TS3 is a bit big for the little commer vans and i dont like cutting them up.

but i really like the TS3 noise, bappppppp, bapppppppp, and again....then you look at the speedo and you are doing 20mph !!! Speeding tickets gone for every.

I now have 8 commer vans...(including shells without motors) i am going to stop, had my fix, feels good.

Next to actually get ONE running and registered.

i have to admit, i dont like being so close to the front, especially as i am used to the big old benz cars, that feel invincible. The commers make one feel very vunerable.

it is strange being up front to start with & softer suspension on campers can feel like you're going to roll over onto your front when you brake - vans much more steady.

just a reminder on the TS3 stuff on the New Zealand site...

Did contact fella behind site about history of PBs and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable - so might well have some advice on drive train options if you contact him (email address on website)

8 Commer Vans in saveable nick, think that must be close to as many as there left in the whole of the U.K. [:0]

Love at first sight...hope the others dont get jealous.

WOW

that is absolutely gorgeous, love the peaked sunhat over the windscreen - very well found. If it were mine it wouldn't need restoring - I'd just have it in the garden and sit and look at it lovingly, a real work of art as it is[^][^][^]
