troubles

My wonderous vehicle shall live in London when I can get it down there but it may also spend a little time at my parents in Birmingham! I've got to try and get it to pass its MOT before it lives anywhere though I'm afraid! Eek!! I've found a garage up there who reckon they can do the work, but who knows at what price!! Do you think £900 for a 1970 coachbuilt Commer Autohome without an MOT but in good nick with no engine troubles (apparently) is a fair price?? Oooo questions questions! Hi Tara,

Have read your other thread so hope that garage come through o.k. for you, should in theory work out cheaper than if you have to tow it anywhere (unless you have access to such things really cheaply)

£900 doesn't sound desperate and seeing how rare it is and how much you love it already it looks like a happy deal to me - should be well worth restoring and important work.:)

We've seen vans go for more and we've seen them go for less but we've never seen one of these go anywhere before and if it is only minimal work to get it through the MOT then I would say you did OK. Think of it this way if it was an equally rare VW in the same condition you would have paid many times that amount and probably would have been scared to use it on the road in case you damaged your 'investment'[xx(]. You have got yourself a potential cracker, with the welding done and a re-spray you will have a van that should last for years, how many holidays can you get for £900 :).

just wondering weather its worth finding or any one knows off a recovery or transport services our forum could strike up a deal with as iv had a few jobs brought to me from other parts of the country and others of you mite require vans etc collecting for yourselves from god no,s where :D????????????????????? any ideas :D:D
 
at this rate we'll have to have a whip round and buy you a recovery truck - one with a BIG engine[}:)]:D
