i bought this 1980 toyota hiace this summer when there seemed to be no commers in my price range its a lovely van to drive and part are good to get but there are so few left, interior parts are a night mare to find so if anyone knows of one in a scrap yard let me know

yep the picture does it credit ,it had silicon on the window seals and had been brush painted and some not so nicely finished repairs to the cils , i don't like dising other repairs because without them it would have been scrapped years ago the roof hinges were hanging on by the skin of there teeth but that said the underside has had some very good repair work and it came with a MOT ,now iv been searching for bits ,it seems they can command good money too when tidy ,its at the paint shop now so as soon as it comes out i will post more pics ,there is more interest on the commer sight than there is on the toyota sight

thats just my look martin Im haveing a real nightmare trying to got dashboard /trim parts, the mechanical stuff is good to get and its quiet cheap ,most of the vans went to africa

I have very fond memories of the Toyota Hiace.

We had two Toyotas in the 70s: A straight sided camper and then later on a larger one with coach-built camper on the back. I remember the name Danbury Hiace ut can't remember which was which (might have been both I guess).

I had never seen one before, and since then I've only seen a few: 3 or 4. We all went as a family to watch the film "Gold" with Roger Moore.
There was a disaster scene involving many ambulances, all of which were Toyota Hiaces.
When they appeared on the screen as the disaster unfolded, all my family went "Yayyy!!" as they're so uncommon, and got very strange looks from others in the cinema.
