I've started drawing up a new body to be fitted on my old Commer lorry and I'm looking into the types of timber to be used. 'Keroin' seems to be the most often suggested hardwood but its quite expensive so I was just wondering if anyone on the forum might have any other suggestions?

The lorry's pre-60 so she can't be used to carry goods but I'd still like it to be in hardwood.

Any thoughts???

What wood is preferrred by the boat-builders? I'd be inclined to use what they do for it's water resistant characteristics.
