not as noisy as I thought but deeper GRRRowlll:D getting the dash far enough forward to get the switch in from behind was a bit tricky, not sure where to mount the relay yet, might mount it under the drivers seat next to the coil...

think its spose to rain tommorrow and I'm getting behind with my househusband chores lol

On Peggy the relay was mounted under the dash on the horizontal flange near the driver's side headlight.

Ok, so I got the wiring done today but its not working HELP!:)

Ok, from a switched live at fuse box, through a 20amp fuse to gearbox switch then to C2 on relay....I wired onto the switch as below...is this the correct way to connect to the switch please??

The wiring should be fine Colin, one problem I had when I fitted an Overdrive was that the Solenoid would`nt work as it had lain unused for a number of years, I stripped and cleaned it packed it with light grease reassembled it and it worked a treat! Have you tried a voltmeter or test lamp across the switch? This would eliminate a wiring problem, there are a number of other things you can do to check if its a wiring or relay problem, you can bypass the relay and wire straight to a two way switch to see if that works...or you can set light to the van and be rid of any further problems:D:D:D

Thanks Alan....I haven't had a chance to put a meter/tester on it yet as it started getting dark so had to call it a day but thanks for the tips, I will try all over again tommorrow:D

Nice one Colin I'm impressed, especially with the blue pipecleaner you used to wire the switch in;)

There shouldn't be a problem with the relay as it's new, but I guess that doesn't mean there's not!!

The new relays can pose a problem, Rupert fitted one on Jessica but couldn't get it to work with the conventional wiring set up, there is more than one configuration with a 6RA:I
