It wasn't the easiest thing to lift in by myself, but not that bad [8D] ...I couldn't work out why the slave cylindere wouldn't fit back on the control arm ...then it occured that the new Vauxhall clutch plate is a couple of mm thicker than the old one, also the carbon thrust bearing is about 5mm thicker than the old roller one, so I just released a little fluid and it went on ok:D

just got to wire it all up now:D

looking good :D:D;),Colin.did you have any probs regarding the linkage or the speedo cable(looks OK [^] ). Is that the prop that came with it[?] also did you find that the g/b x/member lined up ok. I think thats the beauty of the "d"type box, it all fits without too much messing about:p

back to my "rootes"

Hi Trevor ...you are right, the D-type fits with no hassle at all and yes the prop came with the box so saved me having to shorten my original one...I cant test it yet as still have to wire it up and anyway I will tackle the exhaust next.....cross memeber fitted straight on:)

when I did smurfs ages ago I had to simply (simply he says lol) adjust the linkage rod, don't know about this one yet, havent had time to look...:D

Oh and the speedo is the standard cable and fitted perfectly (I read somewhere that the calibration will now be wrong....There is a part no on the back of the speedo head and this is different for vehicles fitted with overdrive) ....Like Commer speedos are accurate anyway lol:D

Nice looking job Colin, well done!
Would`nt worry too much about the speedo as they are wildy out anyway, just use a sat nav for an accurate reading, when I fitted an overdrive to a commer and checked the speedo against my sat nav it was`nt actually that far out, about 3mph fast if I remember rightly.
