Tigger's Bouncing!!!!

Went to a party last night in Poole, recognized a road we were going down and lo and behold I saw Tigger! Looking mighty fine :)

Well, I have been kinda busy with Tigger..... all 4 wheel arches have been rubbed down coated with 'Ku-rust' and waxoyled......the fuel tank is off at the mo so the space above has been treated and painted.....the tank has a new sender fitted (that was fun and games as the new sender wouldn't fit through the hole so had to cut the hole bigger) ,,,the breather was not long enough and completely blocked/kinked and also there is a 90 degree bend in the filler pipe where it goes on the tank which looks like it will fall apart any minute....

so awaiting delivery of the new breather (longer) and new elbow...should arrive tomorrow hopefully. also got the filler neck off to have a good clean up and ordered a sheet of rubber gasket material...hopefully it will all come tomorrow and I can start putting it all back together again and take some pics as I go..:)

new sender fitted and I made up an earth wire to put on one of the mounting bolts for good measure...i'm told that alloy is not a very good 'vehicle' for carrying current;)

I put 2 gallons of fuel in and the guage now reads just under 1/4 does that sound about right?

'swearword' 'swearword' 'swearwording' 'swearword'!!!!!!!!!!!!!![:(!]

went for a run, put £40 of fuel in and the 'swearwording' fuel guage still says 1/4 [:(!]

only thing i can think is that after i fitted the new sender I stored the tank on its side and maybe the float arm has got wedged somehow........only one way to find out, take it all off again.......Joy:D:D ..........NOT![:(!]:(

i reckon theres about 7 gallons of fuel in the tank and nowhere to store it if I drain it out, my car has a full tank and I'm not putting it in Cazz's car[:0]

Oh no, what a complete bummer - swearword, swearword, swearword[V]
At least you should know when it drops below 2 gallons:I

Just about sick of the sight of laying under Tigger..at least its clean ....

Hmm, i wonder if I'd get away with temp blocking the out spout and lowering the tank slowly on a trolley jack, just enough to get the sender out......

here's an idea for Tim...how about fitting an on/off tap on the out spout during production?

Assuming you've got a rubber fuel hose connected to the outlet why not clamp some molegrips on it to stop the flow?

It's not the out spout that's the problem, you can't disconnect the inlet hose as it's halfway up the tank:I
Get your self away for the weekend, use up the juice and drop it when you get back:)
