I have noticed I have a glass jar type fuel reservoir just before the lift pump - it might get in the way of the K&N filter, does it do anything, its not in the engine manual?

shame i did not know you wanted conversion kits before lee as i could of let you have both:( have you checked your engine number to when the engine was built[?] my engine came from a 72 van but the engine is a 77 build:)

the oil filter has the mod to take screw on filters but the fuel filter is the old unscrew and change the element type - the log book is dec 77 but who knows how long the engine was sat on the shelf for before they fitted it

how did you date the engine - it would be interesting to know

engine is defo before 75 lee or it would start with the letters ed;) the van may of started life with a petrol engine and then had a later diesel transplant[?] could be the reason why your oil bath was missing:(

heres my new fuse holder for when I wire up the leisure electrics - got it off ebay, uses standard automotive cartridge fuses - if a fuse blows the red light comes on for the blown fuse (photo without the clear clip-on cover)

looking at your engine lee it looks like your fan has 4 blades[?] being a diesel it should have 6 blades:( or is it just my eyes and the way the pic is taken:I

Not sure but the shape of the blades looks more efficient than the metal one, I was thinking of getting one for Bonnie. Anyone else have an opinion?

just ordered one - for 9 quid its worth a try.
Interestingly I just measured the 4 blader on mine and it has a diameter of just 290mm - the one on ebay is 360mm. Just measured the casing on the radiator where the fan fits - that has a 380-400mm diameter so the new one will fit. looking at the radiator in place now, the fact that the fan is small is now glaringly obvious

Great way to get rid of unwanted fuel and accelerate bore wear with a prolonged warm up time [xx(]
Best option is an electric one on a thermostatic switch :)
