Sorry guys, but that's no longer a dog, it's looking more like a pure bred pedigree Kennel Club registered Hound-dawg!

... ok next big technical question - this time the freelander

My turbo is playing up, i can hear it running up but it seems to come on & off, on and off, and when i put my foot down i get lots of lovely black smoke, loads of turbo lag and not a lot of power. I am assuming the turbo may be shot - but the code reader is saying the turbo solenoid has a performance issue.

now i dont know if this is linked, but I dipped the oil and it has gained - not emulsified, not smelling of diesel, just more of it... cant work it out,

the car is sweet as a nut pootling along, its just when the turbo spools up that the problems start ???

The extra volume in the sump has got to come from somewhere, either the fuel or the cooling system, are you loosing coolant?

It must be fuel - doesnt appear to be any drop in cooling level

Don't know the set up on F.Lander but if it's got a mechanical fuel pump bolted to the block check the fuel pump diaphragm, it could be split and dumping fuel into the sump[xx(]

so could the turbo issue be a symptom of low oil pressure rather than an actual fault itself?

i meant waste not waster - as you can see im trying to avoid the inevitable new turbo cost
