Now - i take it that DOG is a DOdGe, i cant tell the difference by looking, so what is the difference between a commer & a dodge, now come on, no tutting, derrrrrs, swearing or shaking of heads - im new to this

commers became known as dodge s later on after chrysler bought them out, then later on theyturned into the dodge spacevan which had the big plastic grill wrapped around the front.;)

Just a different badge really. Much like when Chrysler bought out Rootes and the Rootes Imps became Chrysler Imps.

found this link which gives the history of the name changes - am i right in thinking dog has the Perkins diesel - if so happy days, i trained on perkins diesels in the navy - and i have enough mates still in the mob to enable a steady supply of blackmarket parts

yes he is a diesel and when i drove him up to the field when we had the last camping weekend here at my neck of the woods he dove like a train, pulling really well, i was quite supprised.;):p

you need to pay road tax on the later ones but if that's the case you can put 6 months on instead of full year most people only use them for 6 mths any way.

There are some different panels associated with the different trim, the front panel for example. Door handles, rear lights, grille and some of the cab trim - not a lot really. They are all Commers under the skin[^] so we'll still talk to you.

hes ok panky anyway ,as his dog has the commer style front lights etc but just different lettering across the front, so we can still talk to him as hes not an outsider, what do you think.[?];)

my pb panel van hadnt been run for years and when we got it home we put a new batterie on it a some new diesel down the filler neck and after three flicks of the key it burst into life and ran like a well oiled singer sewing machine.;) and i love it.:p
