ive actually repaired more than that to the bottom of the door section but i will post later on in the week to panky as i dont want to bomb bard him to much,(the poor fellow). this is going to be the first door exchange in the swopping service, this door is going to cemlin, the guy who had the running with the tractor at the holiday park. and ive also got someone else wanting some doors too,(the swampster).;):p any more takers for this service. the door will come back to you repaired filled and rubbed down, and coated in primer ready for paint,oh and it will come with one of my new rubber weather strips fitted by the glass to stop it rotting out again.:p;)
 
looking good there- useful pics for when I get round to doing mine. Are you reparing doors in the kitchen?! That's cool! My wife wouldn't let me rebuild the gearbox on the kitchen table :(

do you know something ,if i had a penny for everytime i got asked that i could have rebuilt at least ten commers,haha. no its my garage,i have an account at a kitchen company that i use when ive got a kitchen to fit, and i bought four 1000 base units and four 1000 wall units plus work tops plus sink and taps waste ect, for the pricely sum of £230.00 .its just a cheap way of storage.and lots of space.;):D:p
 
looks good! I wish I had some good storage like that in my garage. I sink would be good to for washing parts and making a brew.

well ive welded on the outter skin now tonight, and sent panky a few more piccies ,which im sure he will post for me when he gets a minute or two. it went quite well i thought, but i must confess i did get a little bit of heat distortion on the door,i must have done it a little to quick, but its not that bad, nothing a bucket of filler wont sort out anyway, haha. im only joking its not that bad incase there are any takers on the door swopping sceen. well you can judge for yourself when you see the piccies.;):p

schucks panky you never fail to deliver the goods my man, your a star. well what do you think then, a slight skim of filler here and there and it will be good as new. im going to rub the rest of the paint of tomorrow night and get it ready for filling and priming.:p;)
 
Use a flapper disc to take the welds down and you will need very little filler. That door is looking very good - almost as good as mine [}:)]

yes there is a bit of fettleing to do as i stripped the paint off i uncovered a few old battle scares which had been filled, no rust just a few car door dents ect;):p
 
that looks a professional job there having had to do all five doors i know wat a b.....d they can be its the b.....d curve ,,well done:)
 
hi baldy what do you mean you spotted the quarter light and seal. and what do you mean you stillneed o/s and n/s. i used or tried a few different things to get the paint off. i used a grinder with a wire wheel to get most of it off and i also used a bit of nitro morse in places, it took a while shall we say. about 4 hours or so,on and off. but it came up looking good though.:p;)
 
if anyone else wants to participate in my door swapping service you know where to find me. like i said it will be done properly. rusty part of door skin removed,back of door repaired, new skin let in. completley stripped of paint ect and then fillered and primed ready for paint. and a new rubber weather strip fitted across window.:p;)
 
wasn't being sarcastic woolfy,i shouldnt of used the term spotted i.e welded, i really did mean the glass n seal in door,will keep looking maybe just have to bond back in..when you come to fill the door lead filling is great but expensive,if you can get a good quality bridging filler i.e chopped fibre glass/fibrefill,use that first before you use body filler,if you've herd of wurth products i found there fibre fill easiest to sand down some brands difficult to sand,just in case you didn't already know;)
