Yes, I understand Panky, consider me told! I did have a chuckle at the thought of driving down the motorway with bits of polystyrene flying off the roof ... Like snow :D
See, I'm very much an idiot! :p

Does anyone have fold down front bench seats like this? I'm thinking about having them fabricated . . .

Nice looking van :) Does anyone have any pics of how those fold down seats operate? What's the little squab on the driver side for?

Cheers.

On my bench seat that is where the battery would have lived (I think), that is why you could remove that part to stop shorts; it is not a headrest unfortunately!

Actually a thin plywood/polystyrene sandwiched panel would be very light and strong, would be a nightmare to make though:I Best stick to the gas struts:)

Ah that makes sense. Would still like to know how the seat works if anyone has one in operation....

I can tell you about mine but not sure how to make it clear - maybe pics :)
Stage 1 (for my customised version!) is to detach from the (removable) bar that is in place across the cab.
Stage 2 is that the base of the seat slides forward slightly
Stage 3 back goes down flat
