The thing about commers is......

Not too bad Martin - but still reckon you make it look easy;)

Now have even more appreciation for the level of skill involved in certain detector vans (etc) and how much enthusiasm involved in rescuing a certain slyder[8)]

Went rust bashing again under other cupboard to see how badly that 'orrible chipboard floor had damaged underneath. Whacked merry bells out of the rotten bits and, when the dust settled, this chap had landed as you see him in the photo - defending Bessies' honour to the last....

passenger side not as bad as drivers' side and at least now have a better idea of how to sort it out. I see I'll have to make another commer cupboard floor shaped hole in Glyns' spare astra boot (had the right sort of bumps to look the part:I) hope he doesn't change his mind about wanting it back[}:)]:D

That's brilliant [8D] I thought the floor section you welded in was so good because you had 'panel beater' qualifications as well as welding ones :D

Reminds me of an old song.
Ahem......Those autumn leaves drift by my window......

Did you like that, I've been taking lessons you know :I

'There's a spring in my step.....'
'murder on the cupboard floor....'
'keep on grinding, keep on welding..one fine day I'm gonna be the one with no suspension arms '

Now prepare yourselves but don't get too excited. Deep breath - I had a look around Harvey today - I think I was inspired by the Jennings Austin Princess I saw at a local show today. Compared with some projects I knew I didn't have all that much to do but after another poke around things are actually better than I thought [8D] Still the nasty roof edge repairs to do but the gutters themselves are sound - I did look up I'm afraid and had a peek you know where and that is probably the worst bit. The doorsteps, I've decided, will be OK with a couple of local repairs and apart from a hole in the front valance and a few grotty seems that is about it body wise - just got to change brake and clutch cylinders, replace the engine with Rapier lump complete with O/D, re-core rad and job done. Oh yes and a respray:I Work will commence after New Forrest :D

'Harvey the RV'

That's what I'm aiming for, won't be perfect but it will move under it's own (or the RAC's) steam. No I'm not fitting a boiler :I. The main thing that is bothering me is the respray, when I repaired the door bottoms there was a reaction along the line where the old paint stopped, don't want to strip the whole van back to metal but don't want it blistering all over the place either.

in case Harveys brakes go as well as the mini,s , here is an alternative braking system to consider ;)

Thanks for the support Tim, good grief[V] I build cars to go - not stop, I think I've used that excuse before :I

hi panky are you still up if so can you email me on [email protected] just got me computer back up and running and i need you to post some new pictures on here of my new rear corners that ive added to the panels availa;)ble

Fabulous news Panky - sounds like Harvey should be a quick turnaround, can't wait to see him in daylight. Longest job probably finding somewhere to put all the bits stored in the back;)

Respraying should be o.k. if you stick to acrylic based paint? fairly inert normally.

Oooh, Woolfy - got a price on those rear corners worked out yet? might be tempted to add one to the wheel arch section when you get a chance[:X] currently attempting cunning repair on mine to solve wrecked flutes which might not work out
