The thing about commers is......

Sounds good, will you do flowers yourself?

Have painted a couple of cars up and enjoyed it - even more personal when it is something special like Ran. Did a celtic paint job on my extremely unreliable golf years back and artwork must have been liked when I sold it as it is still supposed to be coughing its' way round cardiff.
 
vinyl stickers,i am no artist!would be nice to get them painted on,but am only planning on keeping "ran" 2-3yrs while i do the other 1's,new buyer might want to take flowers off [V]
 
True, although if they look the part it might be factor that draws a like mind to buying Ran.
You can get some great stickers - used to work in a flower shop and the boss got the new delivery van in mustard yellow and had daisy chains along sides and over bonnet - looked really good and had great responses.

Erm, that is a bit weird - my next question to group was to be about painting bottom half to help sort out worst rust areas - favourite on the list so far was blue! better change that then.

just came into my head YELLOW don't know why :I
 
:)yellow could definatley work:), still think that ran blue (now an official name for this colour) is nicest I have seen - but that has now been done really well. Love the youtube - especially the headbang bounce for changing down- very familiar.;)

Saw a VW transporter camper in coffee cream and brown colours with flower stickers like yours Chris down at Newgale beach - still not as cool as Ran[8D]
 
Bessie made it to Croeslan Show, was the only commer in the line up - had some lovely admirers and ended up leading the procession around the ring:D
Sure the engine was purring more happily on the way home, think it was because she met this big muscle bound LDV[:X]:p;)

Managed to get to one of Bessies' favourite overnight spots over the weekend. Have to make sure I wash the salt off afterwards though.

Bessie sounds like quite a remarkable van, has any major work ever been done, welding, bodywork ?
 
Difficult to say, I know she was taken up to Leicester every winter and pampered - MOT fella says how good she is underneath. There are some very faint signs that panel around back lights may have been changed, so whether she had church window lights originally[?] - been resprayed at different times on all areas. Glyn did some welding for me on passenger door sill and that she has had with me. There are oddments of filler here and there which involve recurring rusty patches - is very good to know there is a woolfy out there if anything gets beyond patching[^].

I couldn't believe my luck when I first went to see her,immaculate compared to the remnants that were left of my first van - which had all the typical commer failings in a big way. Definitely a good inspiration to keep on top of Bessies' needs if I can - I sure think she's amazing and hope to keep her for a very long time[:X]
 
I was wondering about the rear lights and for the year of the van they should resemble a 'tombstone' [:0]. Maybe there has been some light (no pun intended) accident damage and original panels couldn't be found, or the repairer just happened to have the Dodge ones in. Either way it looks like an excellent job was done.
