Well, at last Dozer's V6 is now more like my V6 - all Dozers hard work has been appreciated and put to good use in making the ultimate inter-continental cruiser! We just got back from our Euro tour - from Scotland to England, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Germay Belgium and back home - all in 1 week and 5 days - Needed to be V6 to go quick between places. Has 150 litres of LPG tanks, DVD small screen in the front - 15" in the rear for the kids.

Anyway - here is the new look V6 Commer!

Been a tonne of work done to it apart from all the metal work and re-spray - Dozers work on the engine mods worked out spot on and 100% relaible - only the head posed a problem - but there is only a small sized hole for the air to rush through - Rootes fault! Had her up to 110 on the Autobahn - goes perfect on the LPG

Do you all like the Gold and OEW paint job (even got gold and cream vynle seats in the front!) Got to finish the trim fitting and we'll be there!

Ready for our next lightning speed trip!
 
looks superb! good to hear the van worked like its supposed to! Really like the paint job.

I'm intrigued by the front seat, is that a cut-out so it can fold down passed the steering wheel?

AWESOME! Glad to hear the "tourer" has done you proud; certainly an endorsement for dozer's upcoming business plans!!

Would be interested to hear who and how much the seats cost; got to get yori and the PA done at some point!

Panky on my PA (which is the same year) the seats at the front had that cut out because that battery was behind the driver and the bench goes completely flat for sleeping and you don't want the frame completing a circuit :D

you can just see in this that the section is removed and the battery safely covered with a cloth :p:I

gorgeous pics - lovely to see truly epic journey - that was some motoring to cover that ground in that time - good to know V6 let you slow down occasionally to see the views!:D

Oh and I wanted to ask the range on that amount of LPG and how much the conversion and tanks set you back?

It gives me 400 miles of range - the useful capacity is 120 litres - same price to run as a small hatchback! Bought the tanks of ebay and had a bunch of LPG parts that I took off my folks Subaru Impreza. Took a few days - especially the making of the special mounts for under the floor to clear the chassis members - but it all worked perfectly!

Mine's is the same - however - I've moved the battery to a box under the seats in the back and added another back-up battery to power the tv lights and fridge. No battery in the cabine to avoid now!
 
blimey, what a journey! we've been toying with the idea of a LPG conversion on Wilma, think we might go ahead :D. You're van looks and goes fantastic and is a credit to all the hard work done, glad to see your family enjoys your camper as much as ours do [8D], we are even more inspired to tour around France next year :D:D Jayne xx
 
I realy nice van, is there any chance that you could post some photoes of how you mounted the gas tanks, thinking of doing an LPG conversion on DORA

LPG tanks- I'll take some photo's of the underbelly tanks - they are the ones that are put under the sills of Range Rovers - 36litres a piece - to mount them I made 3 mounts with integral straps - made mounting them a doddle - only thing you'll have to be carefull of is where the exhaust goes.

Re-spray was done by a Polish chap who rents a garage from a friend of mine - he did a great job - instead of masking off parts, he would unbolt them! Charged a fixed price too - not a penny more - wish there were more people like it!
 
respray sounds (and looks) good - I'm in need of some paint work and I'm in bathgate too, would he be interested in some more work?

the wife's polish too - would I get a discount!

my Commer Betty has LPG fitted before i bought her ,just a quick one has yours a adjustable valve in the big LPG pipe to the carb and if so how did you set it up ? i can adjust it to run on idle then its too weak to run on the go and visa versa .
i should have put this on the mechanical bit but thought this way you would get to read it more easily

Van looks great! Congratulations.
I have a front bumper you can have tho it's a bit rusty and i live in portsmouth...
I guess you could always have it rechromed or maybe paint it but painting on chrome is never terribly successful...
