The New Project

Well the weather has certainly improved this weekend with a glorious day of 20 deg C and expect the same tomorrow, so was outside working on the wiring loom. Thought you'd like this picture I came across tonight. Taken at Mt Panorama, Bathurst NSW, yes the track we have the annual 1000Km race at. This is the top of the circuit last Friday at Skyline heading down into the esses and dipper.

Much heavier snow to the south around Oberon and back to the Blue Mountains, with highways and roads closed all over the place. Light dustings of snow around Oberon isn't uncommon, but when Bathurst gets this much, you know it's been cold.

We're just not organised for these types of weather events, with the local councils clearing the roads with road graders and then the slush turned to black ice in the night and they closed the roads again. As mentioned I headed up the Blue Mountains to Katoomba last Friday evening, the roads had all been reopened. I couldn't stop laughing when I got up there, I've never seen so many snowmen, they were everywhere, just like that episode of Dr Who. Still a lot of snow around on the Saturday morning and lots of people with their kids travelled up from western Sydney by Train and built even more snow men!!

Cheers Stephen

We've got it to come:)
We're just as bad in dealing with inclement weather, I bet your trains don't get cancelled because of leaves on the track and the wrong kind of rain:rolleyes:

Back in April we had huge storms with 200mm (8 inches) of rain falling in 48 hours over most of Sydney. They are now developing new trains down here with a submarine option so they can sit run in such weather. This is Bardwell Park Station at the height of the storm. Mind you just getting to the station was a problem at Sydney's Central station. That's the pedestrian tunnel that links the Station to Broadway. I used to walk this everyday many years ago and is around 500 metres long.

Climate change sceptics please note , this is not normal!!
