The Jag is up for sale

finally come to the conclusion that the Jag is too juicy, bought a renault maegane estate today that does about 60mpg on diesel, compare that against the jags 27mpg and the sums arent that difficult - that said, if anyones interested in a 4wd 2.5v6 jag then give me a shout - obviously mates rates for commer owners

erm don't suppose the jag is cheaper to fix than the meggane aren't they horrible french cars? I would stick to the 27 mpg if I could but we can't always do as we wish good luck selling the Jag hope it goes to a good home.

just got to worry about the cambelt - due in 7000 miles - apparantly its quite pricey on one of these - its a megane estate 1.5tdi on a 55 plate - they reckon its worth doing the water pump at the same time to get it out of the way

I've heard zillions of stories where the water pump is not changed to save a few quid, just to face water pump seizure a few miles later - and valves smashing pistons (or the other way round) in the process, with most folk kicking their leg for not changing the water pump in time.

Don't know how the water pump, camshaft pulley etc. is on the Megane (or was that the Jag?), but get it changed as part of the cambelt service. A potential saving of s e v e r a l hundreds of punds. [^]

still got original gearbox but it was rebuilt about 90k ago! It's had one new clutch at the same time but apart from that just the normal service items:D[8D]

That's pretty impressive. These Renault 'boxes really don't have the best of reputations for lasting very long

.

yes! so I hear! .....carefull driving and regular servicing I think is the key! .......I love my van and would buy it fae the company despite its age and miles...

Apologies to Navyreg for da hi-jacking!....just trying to enforce some faith in da francais!!:D
