Campaigning to get Yori back on the road!!

The law here in NZ is that to be able to free camp or use any of the dept of conservation camp grounds the van must be 'self contained' hence you have to have a grey water tank as well as fresh and a chemical toilet or sewage tank. The plumbing has to basically be up to domestic standard as well. Its a bit of a pain and a added cost but makes for a much better result in the end.
I am quite pleased with how the interior is turning out overall. The benchtop will be solid 500 year old Kauri planks. A native of the north of NZ and now prohibited from being felled for timber. The only source being recycled timber.

Well...alright then, maybe just a little...

Dont wish your life away Colin, all good things come to those who wait:Dquote:

Bloody Commer`s!

Thanks for the great comments folks. :)
This restoration seems to have been going on for ever! (well I guess I did start it in 2004!)
The end is in sight, paint, plumbing and electronics and that is about all that has to be done.
The interior woodwork has taken a huge amount of time mostly because I decided to try an copy the original style quite closely.
All the doors and cabinets are double layer ply with a thin timber frame. This is for strength and lightness.
Of course being in a van nothing is square or quite straight so a lot of the build time is spent fettling bits to get a good fit.
Big updates to come in a week or two... :)

I just need a good rootes...

Need loads of pics when it gets back.

So at long last the iceman is back where he belongs:)
Before some smartass Says "you missed a bit" the front cills still need a coat of green paint.
Anyway here a few pix of the progress so far...:)[8D][^]

Beautiful job, love the colour and finish. Anymore pics of the interior if it's finished, was looking well smart inside from the last pics.

Not much progress on interior but plan to take some time next month to get it all finished. There is not a huge amount to do inside. Mostly finish off the sink bench and paint, varnish etc. also have to fit the twin water tanks as well as a few other odd jobs (connect up gas and electric)
Really looking forward to this being finished!

I just need a good rootes...

Just going down memory lane and found this old pic of the van. This is when it was being taken apart and well before rebuild started.
Even before the garage was built and poor iceman was out in the rain[:0]
