Well i think it's a disgrace ruining all that original set up. It should be left exactly as it left the factory

no mate not in the slightest bit easy..even with a flat tyre.im making longer rear shackles that will be adjustable and the lower bolt with be removable so you can just take the bolt out and have that bit extra room. Awkward as hell but worth it I reckon

How's about spring shackle mounts that are bolted through the chassis leg. With captive nuts welded to the mount and the bolt heads through to the floor area, undo the two bolts from above and the spring will swing free as you jack it up giving plenty of room to change the wheel. Use the same sized bolds as the wheel nuts and you could use the wheel brace to undo them

To help with changing the rear wheels, could you raise a section of the chassis next to the wheel and fabricate a section of outer fluted panel as spat which can be removed to access the wheel?

Yeh gave it a go and like you say ita a little bit more im not too worried about it at this stage.i wont be saying that when its peeing down and im at the side of a road somewhere im sure.

Why don't you take the exhaust out the other side, it's much easier
