A petrol leak and welding, not the best combination. Please make sure that your welder is aware of the situation and takes appropriate precautions. Remember, it is the fumes which burn! [:0] [xx(] :(

hello Kel, was good to catch up on your progress, good on ya gal - all sounding good and glad you managed to find some form of insurance, hopefully will drop dramatically in the next couple of years.

Am so glad you're sticking with it - will be well worth the wait the first time you get out & about :)

I hate insurance companies.

just thought id make that statement. Managed to set up insurance, fully comp £500.53 just for nick to drive, and if anything happens were buggerd cus its a £450 excess which they didnt tell me untill id set up the payment ¬.¬ with all this going on were not going to be able to afford to go anywhere haha.
i kinda just want all this dept to dissapper, i might have to work in Mc Donalds over the summer to earn some extra money to pay it all off.
i think the worst thing is that its £500 al together but cus we have to pay monthly its £750, which is just madness!!
insurance companies make me angry. were only doing 2000 miles a year and the thing only goes 60mph!!!! ooo000oooh.. high risk :/

loan sharks [V][:0] is it too late to cancel the policy usually 7 days ? or is there really no other option [?]

Sybhil & no1

Its the cheapest, so its our only option. All the others were £750 total premuim and more if we pay monthly, so its all there *shrug* but it can only get cheaper from now on. I think the worst thing, is that Nicks a mechanic, which bumps up the price because (as the chap told me on the phone) he has access to so many other cars, he's the high risk, cus techincally our cover, covers him on other cars, EVEN though they have company insurance for ALL the cars they have to fix and test drive, so its got NOTHING to do with other cars at all. AND he spent a fortune getting his advanced insitute of advance drives and its doesnt make the blindest bit of differnce to our premium.

You don't realise what scum bags they all are unless your aged between 17-25 or youve had an accident. its all a load of baloney

I personally wouldn't mind so much paying high insurance fees if they were acutally effective when you do need to use them, but I've found through listening to many friends that a lot of insurers to be incompetent @r53h01e5 and just plain awkward when trying to settle a claim. The SWIIIINNNNES!

Hi Kelsey28, I've just been catching up on your news, sorry to hear you've been having problems, especially with the insurance, are you a member of a classic car club? I am for my sins Chairman of the Hillman Owners Club, we have a number of members under 21 and we manage to get them classic insurance through our club scheme at very reasonable rates, you might be better insuring Clova separately to your every day cars. Where abouts in Notts are you, I'm only in Lincoln so we may be able to arrange to meet, oh and I'm not sure but I may have a spare hubcap - not in brill condition but if I can find it it's yours. ;)

Moley and Brian the Snail :)

CLOVA'S FINISHED!! woo hoo! Shes got her MOT on Sat and we put new carpet down tonite (which must mean that Nicks isnt planning on getting it dirty...), Nick let me put it down and it looks really good. We also washed her, i dont think her roof has been washed for YEARS, my mum donated this long handled brush just for Clova!
Our first trip is'nt long away..
Arn't you just so proud of us 0:)
