Thanks Martin and everyone. Currently sat on Edinburgh bypass. Some 65+ miles down. Worst thing so far is the throttle cables a bit sticky. Fine on a run but pain in the rear in this stop start stuff
Well chaps and chapesses. Made it over a hundred miles and on he A68 but he's having a bit of a coughing fit. Feels choked up but the only tools I've got is a spoon. Tries tweaking the carb a couple of times but it's getting increasingly worse. With over 200 miles still to go I've had to swallow my pride and ring breakdown. Not convinced the plugs aren't fouling either as the first hundred miles were sweet as a nut.
I'll keep you posted how we get on but it's gonna be a long night whatever...
Sounds like the Zenith carb is playing up, not uncommon and easily solved by a rebuild or fitting a Weber....not a lot of help tonight though. It might just need weakening off though so all is not lost yet. Keep the faith!quote: Originally posted by 80mojo

Think it needs a good service and setting up right. Feels like its strangling itself. Might just be hat I'm used to a bit more urgency though! Lol It's already got a weber on.
Fairly confident it's not anything I can't sort at home, just stuck at the roadside with nothing but a spoon
Had breakdown out. No fault so he followed us for ten miles. Nothing. Ten miles further on... Same again. Just on the truck now. Gettig relayed back to Lincoln at last. What a long day... Soon be worth it though
