The early Rootes cars around 1960 use a different temp sender than the latter cars ,if you use the late sender it under reads .I have tried Grimes with no luck .I have tried to get my instrument modified to use the late sender but I was told this could not be done .Has any body over come this problem ,as I said Rapiers etc would all have this problem ,Grimes knows the senders are different but cannot supply

If you know the part number you can cross reference it on the intermotor web site, then keep an eye on ebay, or if all else fails fit a modern off the shelf replacement gauge/sender, you'll need a sender with a 5/8 unf thread though.
