We here in Australia have a big race at Bathurst each year .While watching practice this year ,the T V went out back to show the million dollar Rigs ,and what should be there but a Commer camper .I was not quick enough to get the name of the team that had such taste in their team .
 
Dont know whether this might have been it, but sounds like the colour scheme of it from feedback I have heard locally.

Commer-bago! That is just superb ! :D

But, back to the van, what on earth is it? Clearly based on a van body, as the rear end is proper van right up to waist height, I'm wondering if this could it be one of these (by now ultra rare!!) tailors vans which Rootes did in the early 60s? I mean, the van must be a '63 or '64 if I've got the breakpoints roughly right, and that could indicate that this van was "factory supplied" like this (before converted to a camper, obviously).

And if this is a tailors can (I think that's what they were called), could this be the only survivor? [:0] I still find the big bulge in it's forehead a bit puzzling, but apart from that... What you say, folks?
 
'Gown van' they called it, and not tailors van like I said..

The van at Bathurst was one colour and did not have a roo bar ,the tube on the bar in the photo is used for the tent polls ,fishing rod ,or if painted black a source of sun heated warm water
