What an absolutely fantastic weekend[8D] Made so by everyone who attended an joined in with the spirit of the occasion. Bernie and Heidi with the puppet show and Blackpool tower, Martin and Karen with the 'Old Codgers' display and daytime light string, Mike with the CVF banners, Mike and Sarah with their very crafty hand made bunting that was strung between the vans guarding the entrance - the list goes on and every one played their part in making the stand a huge success[^] The vans were impeccably turned out (even Reggie the veggie
) and public (and judges) loved it as much as us

Summer's Coming
I was amazed at getting best light commercial with Reggie [:0] We decided on Sat afternoon to have a go at getting it started. After freeing the starter, set of new plugs and a temp fuel supply, got it to run for a few seconds
It was obvious one valve was sticking, so Sunday morning I took off the rocker top to find no8 stuck open [B)] Liberal amounts of wd40 and gentle taps with a hammer and a couple of hours later, it sprung shut
More fuel and a new battery, it sprung into life after 30 years Now starts on the button and ticks over lovely.

Best commer now sat at the side of the road after suffering a small electrical fire in the cab above the headlining. All diagnosed and offending electrical wires disconnected, waiting for the AA to take us the last 55 miles. [:X] so much for a relaxing day off tomorrow!
I shall be rewriting the interior lights and wipers with non toxic wiring, big Rupert stinks of burnt electrics, he may be getting an exciting ride in a washing machine along with anything else fabric in here!
New headlining fabric under discussion!
Had to rip out the headlining and throw Sarah out at the side of the road!

Hope Rupert eventually arrived home safely!-An unfortunate end to an amazing weekend. Much effort put into the site - well rewarded! Thanks for all of the organisation and the incredible displays - The Punch and Judy show was awesome as were the Blackpool Tower ,the 'boating pool' and Ethel and Ernie! - Also can't believe how well the 30 year old 'barn find' ran for the first time.
All will wonder at the photos when they are posted.
