Tatton Park 2014

I'm hoping to be with you all tomorrow-only just back from working in Coventry. (Will bring the 3 Commervanfan Banners!) . Hazel and Matt are busy with the house and Childrens cricket and football -so it will be just me (the only 1970's I have is the van and contents -hope this will do). Just one thing to sort! -If it's wet or damp the gear stick seizes up and is almost impossible to move. I'm just off to run some more oil down the top ball joint and grease everything in sight underneath-if it's sunny tomorrow I might just make it! If there is a problem I will try to get the banners to you some how. Have a safe journey everyone -Mike /Clarabel and Co.

Will be an early morning tomorrow... I haven`t washed the van yet. lol

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.
 
Bugger - Flares, knew I'd forgotten something - I'll get me needle and thread out.

Looks like we're coming a day early if that ok - should be there around 8 tonight, if it's not an option then we'll find somewhere close by and be there in the morning.

8 tonight will be fine I think the gates shut at 9pm but we should be able to get you through the back gate if you get delayed give me a ring on 07776436200 if you have any problems

Thanks for that - should be off by 5:30-6, 1 hour 40 on Sat Nav so will be 8ish hopefully - she does 55 now you know :)

Clarabel is just about to go on a test run then leave in about an hour (fingers crossed)-I've found my old Dansette radio(no battery) ,shaken the moths out of a cable stitch jumper my sister knitted for my 25th and found an old pair of cords. Hope to see you all before 8 - depends on gear shift!

Well Clarabel made it despite her seized up gear change:) Jon fixed it in about five seconds with deft use of a WD-40 can fitted with a long nozzle - Mike was gob smacked:D
Eleven other vans converged on Tatton and every one was a star in it's own right and the public loved them[^] every crew contributed to an amazing weekend and everyone joined in with the festivities. I was thanking everyone for coming and the answer I got back was 'we didn't do anything - we just turned up' Just turned up Scott, Claire and the kids in Katy travelled up from Devon and had a nightmare run in awful traffic all the way and still arrived smiling and raring to go, Bernie made a disco complete with light show and a stack of batteries to power it, Paul JL made a dance floor, Johnny and Claire supplied some retro sounds and a vintage record player to compliment the disco, The list goes on and everyone played their part in one way or another.

We bagged a couple of trophies[^] We got the runner up prize for best stand of the show, we where sandwiched between the Jensen club in third place and the Rolls Royce mob who got top spot, must have been because they mowed their grass;) And to top off a brilliant weekend for us personally - Bonnie got the best Commer cup[^]

What an amazing weekend. We are still buzzing.
can`t wait for next month at Martin`s
No photos from me as my phone threw a wobbly and won`t turn on again.

Highlight for me and John.... a ride around the field on the fire engine!:D

Great weekend and thanks to everyone for making it so memorable...seeing Paul McCartney running after a Commer fire engine wearing 4" platforms is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while!!! Now where's that video Bernie :)
