Went to a small local show today. The weather was kind when I was there but it did start raining just as I left [xx(]. No Commers and only two other Routes products I could find. The biggest turn out was by Macker and Mia's club 'Northwest Casual Classics' and I spent a while shootin' the breeze with Big Jimmy and his Zodiacs.

Now I know where Macker gets his modding influences from :)
The Alpine will go a bit better than with an old Commer engine in :I

Something to do with the front suspension/brakes by any chance ;)

cool looking zodiacs [8D]and a tasty mini :p that zetec alpine,s a bit sly too [^]

"you were only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off no.3"

Love the Humber's shape, a lot better than any jaguar.
Nice to see the Zetec lump in the Alpine as well..easy engine to work with
:D

Well done for spotting the show Panky :D, Jim with the Zodiacs lives around the corner from me and has two teenage sons that are into classic vehicles Zodiacs often win prices as they catch the eyes of judges. The Alpine is one of my favourite cars in the club, it is an American import and the engine and 5 speed gear box conversion was done before its present owner Russ bought it. I have looked at the modifications with the thought of the Commer tried to convince Russ that the Commer engine would be better in the Alpine but he is not biting.:) I will be watching what Martin does with the brakes from the Hawk. For the standard engine the braking system is adequate but would need upgrading before some serious engine mods[}:)].

whats with them are thay of any use???

Correct boys :p Disc brakes, with the same stub axle carrier as the Commer, bolt straight on :p You can modify the rear axle with PA cylinders and revert to rear handbrake ;)
I was quoted £400 for second hand ones, from a guy in the Humber club, so bought a car instead, much cheaper :)

If you have the time when you are striping it down is there any chance of posting photoes of the brakes Martin[?]
