sump gasket

hi all,what sort of a job is it to change the sump gasket.and do i have to take the engine out,or can i do it in situe.cheers gary:D
 
Geting the 2 felt pieces in situ i found quite challenging as i couldnt drop the sump pan enough to get more than a couple of fingers in there.Several time the felt pieces fell in the sump resulting in me calling upon the Gods for assistance!!.

Otherwise a walk in the park, lol..

Go do it and find out..:D

Its bound to give you trouble!..thats what you asked for though isnt it!???
 
thanks for that,will be haveing a go soon as the gaskets get here.was just worried that engine might have to come out.cheers again gary:D
 
hiya, tried sump gasket this morning,sump came right out fixed gasket put back togther still leaked at the front.started again sump out cleaned it all up ,looking at the corkbits at each end they didnt seem to go right in the grooves.is there any tips on getting the front bit in .do i need to put plenty of sealant on to help? cheers gary:D
