Summer will soon be here!

I was lucky enough to find the correct tool a few years back, they are fairly tight and need knocking back on. I use a scaffold pole for that;)

Having fairly recently changed a bearing (on babs), I don't remember having to take the bearing off to change the seals on the axle? If there is nothing wrong with the bearing, and all you want is to replace the seals and clean and paint everything, I'd leave the bearing where it is.

Please tell me you only hit it on the inner race and nowhere else [:0]
I always warm bearings when fitting them to shafts, that way they usually drop on without any force ;)

Scaffold pipe is just right to knock the inner race ;) Yes, you do have to remove the bearings to do the seal.

My memory isn't very good then. I guess the bearing must have come straight off the shaft as I certainly didn't have any tools, or had to do any bashing. But there again, I might have forgotten about it all together.

The Christmas brake has been put to good use, I have now got my drive shafts completely striped down and all my engine bits on order. My axle needed a little bit of welding, and a lot of cleaning.

So this is what the drive shaft assembly looks like, and that one seal I want to change. I need new bearings as well as they needed a little more heat to get them off than they really can safely take

I still wish it was bigger, and I have to pay for the privilege each month. Money well spent I figure as I spend ALL my free time out there.

actually! Your right, yes it is. Thank god for ebay and being able to get a 500ml tin of Simoniz for around £3.00. That saves you £4.00 0n Halfords prices.
