I done the adjusters panky , it was the front wheel shoes that caused the problem , I adjusted it and the van now moves freely , unfortunately one of the new brake cylinders broke off at the bleed nipple , castiron , i reckon there was a hairline crack in it , sht quality ,, the system wouldnt bleed before it broke I may have to strip the old one and put parts from new broken one into it , can it be done ? I am peeeed off , so took a break from it for now. Wont allow me to post a picture of broken cylinder , its saying file is to large ,, anyhow thks for ur helpIf you haven't already done it back the adjusters off a bit.
If it's a seized handbrake cable take a look at this thread https://forum.commervanfan.co.uk/threads/stiff-handbrake-cable.9784/
But don't use the cable if it has broken strands at either end.
[/QUOTE thank u I got it sorted
As long as they are the same internal diameter and the bore on the old cylinder is not scored or rusty then yes, you can use the new internals in the old cylinder.I done the adjusters panky , it was the front wheel shoes that caused the problem , I adjusted it and the van now moves freely , unfortunately one of the new brake cylinders broke off at the bleed nipple , castiron , i reckon there was a hairline crack in it , sht quality ,, the system wouldnt bleed before it broke I may have to strip the old one and put parts from new broken one into it , can it be done ?
