Sticky starter

i have a clicky, sticky starter motor, that needs a tap with something before it turn over. Alloy head, hunter engine with starter and solenoid together. is This something that is fixable, or is it not worth the hassle?

Might just need a good clean or possibly new brushes.

It’s done less than 2,000 miles so hopefully just a clean. cheers

Take it out, spray the shaft with wd40 and run it on the bench. Should free it up.
