Steering Box Oil Seal

Happy Easter Everyone, hope you have been enjoying the weather.
It looks like I have a slight oil leek coming down from the steering box. Does anybody know if it is possible to replace the seal without removing the box?
Thanks.

Unfortunately not :(
The drop arm will need to come off and I doubt you will be able to do that in situ. I wouldn't worry too much about it if it's just a drip now and then, keep the level topped up and give it a wipe at MOT time (that's what I do)

When you do decide to do the job, you'll need a puller something like this. (It's the one I made for the same job on my truck) I used a G cramp to stop it slipping off the drop arm lugs. Your ordinary two legged puller is unlikely to be up to it.

The drop arm has a master spline so you won't need to mark it for reassembly before you pull it off.

You can order a new oil seal by Shaft diameter/Housing diameter/Thickness from any bearing supplier (I use Wych Bearings online).
