DOES ANYONE KNOW IF A STARTER MOTOR FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE MAYBE COMPATABLE WITH A 1966 COMMER PA AUTOSLEEPER, IF SO WHICH.

Taken from a leaflet covering changes. The introduction of the high compression 1724cc petrol engine & data changes to the low compression 1724cc states M 35J for a (manual gearbox) strange we just got one for the riley 1.5 & it is M 35J ?? I think there might be some differences?

Hi I asked this question a while ago and someone had one spare, but by that time i had my old one rebuilt! so he may still have it. I thought at the time that there were lots the same from that era but they are all quite different,

mine was rebuilt from a complete wreck because you can still get the armature new from http://www.woodauto.com/ just look up the number on the old one and do a search for it.

Why not ditch the starter?, and use a cranking handle every time!...

Bound to lower your Cholesterol level, improve stamina and improve overall agility!...

:D



Its bound to give you trouble!..thats what you asked for though isnt it!???
 
I have a spare one from a 73 van. I assume (but dont know - maybe someone else here does?) that its the same as fitted in 66

helo people, like to thank you all for the advise, after taking off the old starter motor turns out it was a Lucas starter motor so i just went down to nearest Lucas dealer and bought a new one
