Pretty sure commerjules fitted one to his Holbay lump during the engine conversion.

Yes I should add it to the listing now that I know all the dimensions and flange sizes required as i made one to fit my Camper.

Does a good job.

Guess I erronously thought I was the only nutter willing to spend £170 for a starter for a Commer:I , so didnt list it on the site.
But i kept all the dimensions so if anyone wants one tell me.

Also kept the original factory one Stevo, so its yours if you want it.
It works fine but those old Lucas units didnt kick out much when new, and doubtless it will be even more feeble now. You could get it overhauled, but that would probably be approaching the price of a high torque one.....

I could be wrong (and frequently am) but Jessica's looks a bit like this...

I think the pinion will be different, you could swap pinions. But youd also have to check the flange location points

i'm going to see about getting my own starter overhauled first.. i'll get back to you jules if that doesn't work out.

I've got one on my Sunbeam Alpine - got it from Cambridge motorsport: http://www.cambridgemotorsport.com/Edge-Performance-Products-Sunbeam-Edge-Starter-Motors note that price is plus VAT and delivery.

There is a guy in the states selling them cheaper inc postage(search sunbeam alpine starter on ebay), don't know if they are any good.

Yes, provided it is from an Alpine series I to V and not the earlier 1950s cars of the same name nor the sunbeam alpine fastback post 1967 which I think had a solenoid on the starter (they still physically fit) I might be wrong. On my van and car they are interchangeable.
