spotted! Commer CI in Staffordshire

I spotted a Commer CI Autohome today, I was travelling past Alrewas on the A38 (towards Burton). I had to turn round at the next junction to get a proper look. Pulled up and had a nosey round it, I felt a little dodgy nosing round their garden but it seemed in in decent nick. I considered knocking on the door (I was wearing my Commervanfan tshirt!) but it was a very frosty morning and I'm sure they wouldn't have wanted bothering by some weirdo at 10:30 on a saturday morning. Is it anyone on here?

If not, can someone braver (and more local - we're back in Scotland now) pop round and tell them about the forum!

I SAW THAT!!!! went through there the day after Boxing Day - funnily enough am going past there again tomorrow[:0] - only saw a brief flash as we went past at 60ish, was it blue? - am guessing it's the same one.

Don't imagine will get the chance to stop on the way past but if there's some daylight left by the time we pass will try for a photo:)

There's a very nice pub in Alrewas, the 'George and Dragon', if you happen to be Commer spotting in the area. I can also recommend 'The Swan' at Fradley Junction nearby. :)

struck out on the photo of motorhome I'm afraid - no time to stop and getting too dark for an action shot when we came past(I tried). Very frustrating not being able to stop as went past it twice[V] well chuffed to add it to the commer spotting list though - look forward finding out more from next person to go on a pub tour in the area:)

A friend of my Dad knows where there's 2 Commers languishing, i'm sure he mentioned a coachbuilt in Alrewas, the other was a van conversion (couldn't tell ya which one) in the Winshill area.

I'm up for a Burton meet, i'd only have to Roll Chloe out the Garage :D

this has made me laugh lots and lots - "commervan t-shirt - licence to knock on doors of unsuspecting commer owners".

i now have a vision of you opening coat showing t-shirt as some form of id to enable you to question people about their vans :D:D

sorry just the pictures in my head are very funny!!

scarey thought - no offence rupert

it was all these things that stopped me doing it!

Sounds like my old hunting ground is a hot bed of commer activity! Must visit the family more often!

So ... anyone up for a midlands meet then ;o) 'twould be great to put some more faces to the names

we can all bring our macks & flash t-shirts together :D

Early May seemed to work out last year, and there is that meet as mentioned by Steve Williams[8)]

(I'd better not get too heavily involved in the deciding as might get caught up in weekend work again this summer[V])

we would def be interested in a meet. may not generally good for us as huw's, his mum and his dad birthday all in that month so keeps us pretty busy.

however likewise prob best keeping out of planning as our social life seems to be based on our 6 years old diary - parties, bowling, climbing!!

Early May would be OK for us, but we're off to Belgium for the European Classic Caravan rally on the 17th. It would be good do at least one meet. The van has only been slept in for one night since we bought ti last May!
