I just got an email telling me to renew my TV licence, the sender was obviously fake as the address it was from had a certain far Asian feel to it:rolleyes: Why I an posting here is because it referenced 'panky@commervanfan' which is an address I've never used or created (unless one is created when signing up) but obviously the spammer has got my details from off here. Looks like a bot has been doing a bit of mining so be aware.
 
Yes still supported by Microsoft. This is nothing to do with them. It's just a Spam email. I get 20 a day because my email is a business address and it was "leaked" by a careless website (Ebay?) years ago. You can check if your email has been compromised by going to https://haveibeenpwned.com
I quite enjoy reading the spam emails. Don't get that many from the Nigerian Ambassador any more though:)

I don't think it's this forum that's leaky, because sally gets the "TV licensing" emails too. She's not on this forum.
 
What concerned me was the reference to panky@commervanfan in the email I got.
I do get loads of spam but this one was new, not had a similar one since though.

I've recently had a couple of dodgy looking emails supposedly from Colin Saunders (formerly of this parish). Straight into the spam folder they go!
 
My vista no longer supported by windows is why I asked try getting onto google or any other browser no go!
Shame I have pics on it!
