Dead easy, Just Campers or Tow-Sure do a cheap kit with instructions. It normally only involves a couple of wires. Be careful if you are planning to fit a modern fridge though, there's been a few problems lately with surges in the ignition system burning out coils[:0]

I run a second battery for a few electrical items and you'll need a specific leisure battery for this purpose, a 'normal' car battery didn't last too long. I'm not into recommending specific brands or makes but if you check with a local battery supplier or friendly camping/caravan centre they should put you right. Apparently it's all about the way they discharge, (the battery you use to start your van needs to produce lumps of power for short periods whereas the leisure battery has a long slow draw of power and will be regularly discharged which normal car batteries don't like...)

From what I've read, the number of times a battery can be discharged is known as its cycle life, and car batteries will survive only 5 or 10 cycles, so may be unsuitable
For camping purposes a battery needs to be capable of being discharged hundreds of times. This type of battery is known as a deep-cycle (leisure) battery, they look similar to a car battery but have a different plate construction, apparently
