spark plugs

I need to fit some spark plugs to my 1971 autosleeper camper (trying to get it to run propelly) still has the standard engine .
can anybody recomend what type to fit thanks

my handbook recommends champion n9y

but i think a modern equivalent is NGK BP7ES
