south coast trip

we thought we'd make a trip across the south coast in ronnie, we worked are way from place to place, first destination was bex hill, and then about another 6 campsites, we just got as far as new forest and i started to have trouble changing gears and had no clue what was going on, then we where a mile away from where we needed to go and the clutch totally went, we where stuck in manic traffic on a hill(f***ing nightmare). god knows how but with a few stupid menovers and nearly running my girlfriend over in the process we managed to get out of the sticky situating, had a few lovely last nights in a campsite then towed home back to bourne lincolnshire, saved me petrol i suppose.

does anybody know if this is gonna be a big job, please tell me NO!

Not a big job, Lancealot is not far from you - maybe he can recommend a garage if you don't want to do it yourself.

Harvey the RV

i phoned the garage that lancalot recommended to me before to ask for some advice to keep me going for a day while i was there, and they told me the same thing had just happend to him.

chris gutted.. the lever arm on my clutch mechanism was badly bolted to the gearbox houseing and required a new bolt not expensive.. I thought the clutch had gone and therefore i looked for a replacement. If its the clutch its not expensive martin has them in stock for about £ 30 details are here http://www.commervanspares.co.uk/commer%20van%20engine.html I got my bits today but the mcechanic at Hollis and Brown is on a stag night so cant fix me up for the weekend and Maxey car show..... its hilarous really, but if you need a hand give me a call you have my number and email...pleased you had an adventure and a good holiday anyways.. Oh im still going to maxey but only think that commerchris/commeracer and possibly comdon/scott might be there, if you come give us a call, we can sulk together about clutches and the AA

havnt really got any pics, only videos, i made sure i recorded the van going on the back of the recovery truck so i can have a laugh when i get home. i've only just read your message paul so i missed the maxey thing i forgot all about it, have a good one.

If you are handy with a spanner it is about a 4 hr job (jacks and axle stands) the Commer gearbox is not a heavy lump and I managed the job quite easy (clean the bolts and put on thred lock)
