Something else on the driveway

New framework fitted where the side ramp/door was removed from.Ive been a little over-enthusiastic with the 'evo-stick' woodglue on the jointing.Hence the white mess evident..:I

Looks like ive removed some of the roof, but i havent!, must be where the 'flash' couldn't reach!(i'll have to use a 'Carlsberg' flash next time eh!! :D)

With no wind at the moment im taking advantage of this and working when i can to get the timbers in place and get the aluminium sheet fastened back in place.
The 'decking' wont be incorporated into the build...but it has its uses at the moment!

The Evo-stic is obviously hiding the lovingly crafted mortise and tenon joints complete with hard wood wedges that took three hours each to create, or was it 1 1/2" ovals ;)

OI!!! Hiya Paul,thought you might like an update on Nomad,well,the rad finally gave up the ghost today in spectacular fashion.Lucky for me i was only taking the kids to school which is only 2 miles.I parked up,took them in and when i came out the van looked like a sauna(as you can imagine).I've nursed it back home ok though.
I took it for a service shortly after getting it and the guy said the front left wheel was on the verge of coming off,he couldn't believe i hadn't noticed when driving it.I had to explain that it feels more akin to driving a pogo stick at the best of times.
No cosmetic changes yet,Elvis is bleeding me dry of any excess cash so it'll just have to wait.
Oh yeah,we've had a name change--"THE DEFIANT",like it?

Good to hear the Big vans still alive, yeah that wheel..i do remember it squeeling at times and seeing the hot grease leaking.Not that i didnt hide that from ya, i truly forgot..:I.Odd about the rad, i did think it was in need of a recore but my local rad shop told me otherwise.I guess they couldnt be arsed then eh!.

My Bedfords coming on great thanks, its all re panelled now, i have got myself an old caravan for certain parts.Ive fitted the door on the back and it looks really well.Im off to Bradford today to pick up a steering box.
Ill try and add some piccies soon, i have plenty.

Just a few more pics of the big girl..

Ive fitted a door to the back now, the side and rear has been re-panelled..I brought myself a leaky old Abbey caravan for 75 quid, out of it i have gotten the sink/ grill, oven and fridge.Windows, but now having found a local scrapyard full of OLD trucks and vehicles i shall be fitting some windows taken from an old camper body from the 70's.
(and no it isnt a Commer!, lol!..)

The new door fitted, this was taken about a week ago, so now all the aluminium skin has been refitted, and am now working on refitting the number plate panel.

No more side loading door, ive re used the skin off the door to re panel the side, a few holes to deal with, an easy deal though! :D

I have a re con steering box to fit, new track rod ends, some nos front shockers and some rear mudguards i got for 15 quid from that lovely scrapyard to fit when the weather lets me! lol!..

Been busy recently, thought id update you with progress on the Bedford TK..
The rear of the truck exterior is almost ready for paint, ill be using coach enamel.
The windows were taken from the old caravan and fit very well.Theres just a few dings to attend to with a lil bit of filler.

I fitted the old front window from the caravan this way to allow more light into the back and of course it means i can sit back in me comfy chair and enjoy the views.

Ive junked the bedford seats in favour for a pair of grey leathers taken from a Rover 623, unfortunately i could keep them heated nor electric due to the electrical side of things were stuffed under the seats which when fitted gave me about and inch between the seat and steering wheel.Now removed the fit is perfect.

The rear is is done, and yes they are mini lights on the back! i think they suit the bedford really well.

Underneath has been tarted up, new shocks all round, steering overhauled and that awful play i had to contend with driving from wales is no more!..:D Yes ive had once more to suffer the gravel driveway!!..:(

She's looking sorry at the moment, there's new panels to weld in where the step brackets mount to, new step brackets as well...

I need a servo as well, the bakelite diaphragm in mine shattered, its proving hard to find one at a reasonable price, one place qouted £700!!...though im willing to fit an alternative if need arises.A fiesta 7" servo will fit with the rod being lengthened(ive tried already), just means using the fiesta m/cylinder as well.

We will see eh..

Anyway times getting on, work to do now is the welding to the cab, board out the rear(its all insulated with 50mm polystyrene now.Wire the electrics and solar panel.The fit the interior.Seeing as im working on it every day at sometime or another im hoping for about two more months of work fingers X...

then im buggering off down south! [}:)]

Have you thought about the universal servo that can be mounted anywhere that is on commerjules' site ratsport.co.uk or does that create more issues than it solves?
