Sold - 1968 Commer Autosleeper Yori

Chris... Thought I would reply in public so that anyone lurking can see too

She failed on the inner sills, which provide strength at the end of the chassis rails, we figured that in in order to replace these the outer ones would probably have to be chopped out hence why we got the panels. There is also welding needed around the seatbelt mounts as these are rusty enough to fail. I cannot guarantee the the panels we have bought and the seatbelt mounts are the only thing that would need welding/replacing best to look for yourself. We had a lot of welding done for the last mot which was mainly the back end chassis rails which commonly go and the jacking points, the mot failure commented that it had been done to a good standard.

We do not have the MOT failure sheet as the nice chap decided not to charge us or write it up and show us with her on the 4 post lift at the end of their day.

For this reason we couldn't guarantee that there is nothing else mechanical that would need doing, she has been generally undercover of a carport and regularly run. We have a lot of confidence in the engine, it overheated once and I flushed it and temperature has been great and improved with the k&n. As you may have seen from the thread we had a small fire caused by carb block and the wiring damaged was redone as a result on insurance.

The interior wood could do with a spruce up as some of the ply is delaminating, perfectly functional just not shiny, we haven't ripped anything out so the shapes can be used as templates.

Hello!
Assuming its just the welding that needs doing, does anyone have any idea what it would cost to get it done?
David

Thanks for the photos. I now know how to put up the hammock - had no idea how it worked - but now do; and I always wondered what those extra wooden bits were for under the pop up roof - now I know - for those hot nights when you need some breeze!

:)

WWW there's a neat queue formed of interested people, readingflyn decided it was too much work with impending house move and will still be on the hunt for something reasonably priced and running. Next viewing sometime this week.

Yoris new owner(s) may well be turning up to Commerfest, having missed out on Will's van I think Yori will be seeing the road pretty rapidly :)

Many Thanks for letting me know John, I do in fact have my eye on another one at the moment, and may well be an owner before too much longer, with much help from a very kind soul from this very manor.:D
I hope the new owner enjoys him/ her ??.
