Soapbox racer

Finished the body mountings and mocked up the main body with cardboard.

Just need to devise a front towing eye bracket now. Thinking of using the front wheel spindle as a mount
 
Having started to watch the Red Bull soapbox series due to this thread (thank you Paul), I have learnt that the bodywork should be designed to fly off in all directions when the soapbox goes over the ramp (it also seems to be popular design feature to lose a wheel at this point too)!

Good observation there. You are pretty accurate lol
 
I spent a couple of hours last night trying to make a nose cone from an old traffic cone... It looks crap so no pics
 
Oooh I might have to come watch the Humber Bridge race :p
I've always wanted to enter but don't think anyone is brave (Or stupid?) enough to join me haha :D
 
Todays jobs were to make up the floor panels and start the plastic bodywork.. That stuff didn't like being bent! Its currently strapped, bungeed, clamped and cable tied into place to help it bend easier.
 
Floor panels in, should stop a leg dropping out...
