Any photo / video updates yet.
Not yet. Been busy with work and clearing the ManFacility so I can have more room to do the bodywork
Well we didn't get selected for the redbull race
Bummer Don't they appreciate innovation?
No way... The engineering too clever for them?
Posted another application today for the Humber bridge race in July.
Got accepted for hull and York so that's 3 events in 3 months
This threads lacks something............................................................................oh yeah - PICS!
Just been working on body mountings, tricky due to the lean mechanisms
Finished the body mountings and mocked up the main body with cardboard.
Will the finished article be made from the shower enclosure sheets?
Hope so. Cardboard is a bit flimsy
Just need to devise a front towing eye bracket now. Thinking of using the front wheel spindle as a mount
Having started to watch the Red Bull soapbox series due to this thread (thank you Paul), I have learnt that the bodywork should be designed to fly off in all directions when the soapbox goes over the ramp (it also seems to be popular design feature to lose a wheel at this point too)!
Good observation there. You are pretty accurate lol
I spent a couple of hours last night trying to make a nose cone from an old traffic cone... It looks crap so no pics
Oooh I might have to come watch the Humber Bridge race
I've always wanted to enter but don't think anyone is brave (Or stupid?) enough to join me haha
Todays jobs were to make up the floor panels and start the plastic bodywork.. That stuff didn't like being bent! Its currently strapped, bungeed, clamped and cable tied into place to help it bend easier.
Floor panels in, should stop a leg dropping out...
