whilst renovating smurfette we did a couple of really simple things and made a lot of difference
first was to reroute the fuel line away from the engine
we replaced the old fuel line with a clear braided pvc hose and routed it up and over the rad ,we used a hight temp fibre packer to sit the hose on and used the holes in the rad cowl to secure it in place with cable ties, then installed a fuel filter in front of the carb, ran perfectly with the advantage of being able to see if there was petrol in the pipe at all times
the flimsy commer steering wheel was a bit battered so looked in the rootes parts bin and tried a dished three spoke avenger wheel, fits perfectly with no adjustment needed and colin will agree its realy comfy to use,
also will be investigating if saab9-3 seats fit
